Job Description

An established, well-respected family law firm in Clayton has an urgent need for an experienced Family Law Paralegal on a temporary basis, with openness to temp-to-hire for the right candidate. Due to overlapping leaves, the firm needs a high-level paralegal who can step in, take ownership of active matters, and provide meaningful support to a busy attorney right away.

This is not an entry-level or administrative coverage role. The ideal candidate is confident, experienced, and comfortable managing family law cases with minimal ramp-up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support a senior family law attorney with active divorce, custody, and related matters
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence
  • Prepare financial statements, parenting plans, and court filings
  • Manage deadlines, calendars, and court requirements
  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and courts
  • Maintain organized and accurate case files

Ideal Background

  • Significant family law paralegal experience (Missouri experience strongly preferred)
  • Ability to step into a fast-paced environment and be productive quickly
  • Strong drafting, organizational, and time-management skills
  • Professional, calm, and client-focused demeanor
  • Comfortable working independently while supporting attorney workflow
